QUESTION: Councillor C. O'Connor

"To ask the CEO to confirm actions he is now taking in respect of the Cluid Housing projects at Fernwood Green and Maplewood Heights in Springfield Estate; will he appreciate the deep concern of the local community and the disappointment of those who hoped to be accommodated in the developments; will he give full details of his options and make a statement?"

REPLY:

The development contract for the these homes is between Cluid AHB and the contractor Formme, SDCC is not a party to the construction contract.  However as SDCC has a vested interest in deliverying these homes for the needs of the lcoal community we have been in contact with the AHB once we were notified of the contract termination. SDCC meet with Cluid AHB on 13th September 2022 to ascertain the current status of the project now that the contract has been formally terminated by the AHB.  The termination process is a formal process which must be worked through by the AHB, Contractor and Bondsmen.  We have been informed that this process is underway and we have a further update meeting scheduled with the AHB on Friday 30th September 2022. The AHB have assured SDCC that they are committed to delivering the units for the community in the most expediate manner once this formal process concludes.
