QUESTION: Councillor Eoin Ó Broin

To ask the Chief Executive for an update on the taking in charge of the unpaved section of Knockmeenagh Lane in Clondalkin between Monastery Road and St Brigid's Cottages, possibly via the creation of a Greenway or a bike lane, last referred to in Question 6 of the April 2022 Clondalkin ACM?

REPLY:

This section of laneway between Knockmeenagh Lane Monastery Road is a cycle lane commitment in the County development.  There are no immediate SDCC plans to deliver this project.  There are third party land owners along this section.  The plan was to deliver this cycle lane as development of the adjacent lands took place at this location.  SDCC would condition the delivery of this infrastructure in each planning permission granted. Then when the cycle lane was delivered it could be taken in charge by SDCC at the appropriate time.
