QUESTION: Councillor Eoin Ó Broin

To ask the Chief Executive for an update on the possibility of the installations of planters at the Elmfield Court Apartment Block on the Ninth Lock Road in Clondalkin as discussed under Motion 1 of the January 2022 Clondalkin ACM?

REPLY:

In my previous reply, I said that this item would need the input of several SDCC sections.  I have investigated the feasibility of installing raised planters by the Council.   The answer I received, was that SDCC would not in a position to maintain these installations as they take a lot of watering and care to keep the plants in good condition.

I can say that from a traffic point of view, these planters would not cause any particular issues.  

In summary: The advice is that these installations require a lot of time resource which the Council is not in a position to provide.
