MOTION NO.14
MOTION: Councillor Eoin Ó Broin
That this Area Committee agrees that the bike lane between the pedestrian and bike bridge over the N7 at the Red Cow Hotel, and the LUAS Red Cow station should have its markings painted post haste. It has been well established that responsibility for this bike lane rests with SDCC. Related to this, the branches of trees which are blocking the bike lane between the pedestrian bridge and the Kylemore Road on the city bound side of the N7 should also be cut back post haste.
REPORT:
The renewal of road markings had been previously forwarded to our contractor and we have followed up and requested them to prioritise this work.
The stretch of cycle track between the M50 and JFK industrial estate is to be upgraded in the coming months and this will provide significantly improved facilites for cyclists on this route.
