QUESTION: Councillor C. O'Connor

"To ask the CEO if he has given further consideration to the need for traffic calming the length of Maplewood Road and in reporting will he state if that consideration has taken into account the new housing developments in Fernwood and Maplewood and will he make a statement?"

REPLY:

The traffic section will conduct speed surveys along the entire section of the Maplewood in relation to traffic counts and speeding.  Should speeding be detected additional traffic calming measures will be undertaken. When the additional traffic comes on from the new development, the traffic counts along all the existing routes will be assessed and should further measures be required we will implement measures to reduce rat running. The results of our surveys and any proposals will be brought back to the Tallaght TMM.
