QUESTION: Councillor M. Duff

"Could the Arts Officer indicate to this Area Committee a timeframe for the installation of the chosen commissioned sculpture for the N81 Glenview Roundabout?"

REPLY:

 The status of the sculptural commission is as follows:

• CE Order of appointment recently signed.
• Letter of appointment has been issued.
• Post tender the artists proposed a number of changes to the art work including change from steel to aluminium and Public Realm has recently responded with some questions regarding design quality and assurance on durability etc. We are currently awaiting response from the artists.
• Public realm will set up a meeting to discuss same with the artists as soon as they have details from the artists.
  
  Once there are no further engineering queries regarding the work the estimated timeline is 7 months for production and installation.
