QUESTION: Councillor C. O'Connor

"To ask the CEO to confirm any further contacts with Fettercairn Estate Management in respect of ongoing concerns and will he make a statement?"

REPLY:

Staff from the Estate Management Unit are in regular contact with members of the Fettercairn Estate Management Committee on issues regarding their estate.

Residents have completed clean ups in all three estates in Fettercairn with support from the Council. Paint has also been provided to cover over graffiti and paint some boundary walls in the area.

Dumping of illegal waste at the rear of Kilmartin was highlighted by the committee. The Council’s Waste Enforcement Officer and the Estate Management Officer for the area contacted Council tenants to confirm that they are disposing of their household waste and rubbish in a proper manner in accordance with any current relevant legalisation. Investigations into this matter are ongoing.

The Estate Management Officer has recently met with members from St. Marks farm with a view to providing support for improvement works at Kilcarrig.
