MOTION: Councillor Shane Moynihan

To call on the Chief Executive to undertake a review of the tonnage limit on the R136, given the large amount of schools in the immediate vicinity, taking views of all stakeholders into account, including schools, businesses and resident associations.

REPORT:

There will be a HGV tonnage limit review conducted on the R136 as part of a County wide weight restriction review in the last quarter of 2022. A range of factors will be carefully considered in that review incuding local schools, the presence of businesses, resident associations and the design characteristics and role of the road within the road network.

A public consultation will form part of that review process.
