QUESTION NO. 7

QUESTION: Councillor F. Timmons

"To ask the Chief Executive to consider and issue a report into how additional funding can be secured for Saggart to continue the village initiative works to the end of the road, to include the parking bays outside the Church? and to ask will he liaise with Saggart Village Residents' Association to achieve this?"

REPLY:

There are no proposals at present under the current Villages/District Centre Enhancement Programme to return to Saggart Village in the short to medium term.

The current works programme at Saggart Village was completed in May 2020 at a cost of €535,000 excluding VAT. The scope of the works is shown in the attached Part 8 Drawing (Agreed and Amended in August 2016).

Note that the scope of the contract was extended during the works to include an additional section of Main St., north from the original boundary at the new plaza to include the entrance into the Medical Centre.
