MOTION: Councillor Alan Edge

That this Area Committee requests more public bins to be installed on Oldcourt Rd to accommodate the high volume of new houses.

REPORT:

Oldcourt Road is being monitored regularly in relation to litter.  There are no litter generators on or near this road, other than the Lidl premises at Beechdale Road.   A number of pull-in areas have been provided along Oldcourt Road and it would appear that bus stops will be provided at these locations in time.  It is proposed to install 2 litter bins on Oldcourt Road at the pull in areas close to the junction with Beechdale Road, close to the Lidl premises.  The situation will be monitored and if a need arises further bins will be provided.  The matter will also be reviewed once bus stops are in place and bus services operating on this road, and these tend to generate litter.
