QUESTION: Councillor C. O'Connor

To ask the CEO for an update on the use of the Old Bawn Pavilion at Dodder Valley Park; will he detail contacts with local groups to ensure wide utilisation of the facility and will he make a statement? Charlie O'Connor

REPLY:

Dodder Valley Park pavilion officially opened in October 2021.  Prior to the official opening local clubs were invited to an information evening and a demonstration of the online booking system showed clubs how to access the pavilion and the pitches located beside the pavilion.

Since the pavilion opened, six (6) customers have registered on the system to use the facilities, three (3) are local sports clubs and three (3) are fitness clubs. 

Emails have also issued to local clubs sending them the link to the Council website where the facilites can be booked, along with a short "How To" video. The council continue to advertise this facility through regular posts on Social Media.

We will continue to advertise and promote the facilities in Dodder Valley Park with a view to getting maximum usage of same.
