QUESTION: Councillor D. Richardson

"Can the manager report on the part 8 in killinarden and when he expects to see the clubhouse for sacred heart Firhouse will be started?"

REPLY:

There will be no part 8 process for the sporting/community facility to be delivered as part of the overall Killinarden Development. The sporting/community facility which is due to be delivered is part of the overall masterplan for SDCC owned lands at the foothills of the Dublin Mountains at Killinarden which also includes delivery of housing, a park, a creche and associated infrastructure.  SDCC has entered into a development agreement with the Arden team to build out the full masterplan. An SHD planning application for the overall development was lodged with An Board Pleanála in October 2021 with the tri-parate meeting taking place with the board in February 2022.  The report from the board following this meeting is currently awaited and when received a stage 3 SHD application will be made to the board by end of June 2022.  SDCC has stipulated and the developer has committed to completing the sporting/community facility in early phases of the project.  Prior to planning permission being in place it would be premature to comment on when development of the facility is likely to commence.
