QUESTION: Councillor L. Whelan

To ask if there is any indication when the road into Citywest Village Avenue, just off the Citywest Drive road (pictures included), will be opened for use? The road has been closed off for roughly two years, as a result people began to use it as a de facto pedestrian access by removing and/or walking over the fences that were put up. People use the access as it leads directly to the Citywest Campus Luas stop. However it has been fenced again. Can an update be provided on this area? 

REPLY:

A member of the Traffic Team has gone out to check out the timelines for the completion of this estate.  The area remains unfinished and is private, the and there are a number of existing trip risks and there is machinery working at at least two locations on the site.  A green area and road surfacing works is being completed at the minute.  The developer has the right to secure a building site location until he has satisfactorily completed all the works.  When I have accurate timelines when this work will be finished I will inform you all by email.
