QUESTION: Councillor Eoin Ó Broin

"To ask the Chief Executive to present an approximate timeline for the fit out of the Community Meeting Space in the Orchard Lodge Apartment Block, for which planning permission was granted eighteen years ago (SD03A/0271)?"

REPLY:

The acquisition of the Orchard Lodge unit was completed on Wednesday the 12th of January 2022.

Draft Internal Fit Out Drawings have been prepared by the Council's Architects Dept and budget provisions of €100K have been made within the Council's Capital Programme Budget to finance these proposed works.

The Council's Community Development Team will continue to liaise with the local GOLD committee and discussions will now recommence in relation to both confirming the management model for the unit and to progress plans for the delivery of the fit out of the unit.

It is anticipated that the fit out of the unit will be completed before the end of 2022.
