QUESTION: Councillor T. Costello

To ask the manager has the Old Bawn Pavillion begun to take bookings for use of facilities and if yes which clubs are availing of this amenity

REPLY:

Dodder Valley Park (Old Bawn) pavilion offically opened in October 2021.  There are two (2) GAA pitches and one (1) soccer pitch located beside the pavilion.  The facilities and pitches will be managed and booked through the new online pavilion booking system www.sdcc.ie/bookapavilion

Clubs were invited to an online demonstration of the booking system, which demonstrated how the facilites could be booked and what fees were applicable.  Any questions clubs had at the time were answered.

Prior to the official opening, clubs in the immediate area and indeed across South Dublin's administrative area were contacted to inform them that the facilites were open and available for use.

Since the opening, three (3) clubs have registered on the booking system however no bookings have been received to date. 

Pitches are due to reopen on 5th February following the winter break. Further contact will be made with clubs advertising the availability of the pavilion and link provided as to how to book the facilities there.
