QUESTION: Councillor L. O'Toole

To ask Chief Executive for an update regarding the status of switching on the new electric at Griffeen Park, Newcastle Road. To also provide updated report on progress for electric gate at car park entrance on Hayden's lane.

REPLY:

The request to provide power to the automated gate at Newlands Road was referred to ESB Networks following completion of the gate installation in July 2021. ESB Networks have been contacted to request an update on connection however to date this has not been provided. Once the power is connected the gate will be commissioned. In the meantime, the area where the works occurred were recently resurfaced in preparation of commissioning.

A similar request was sent to ESB Networks to connect the power for the Haydens Lane gate. ESB Networks have advise that there is an issue with the ducting layout route and are unable to facilitate the power connection until this matter is resolved. Discussions are ongoing to resolve this matter.
