QUESTION NO. 14

QUESTION: Councillor Shane Moynihan

To ask the Chief Executive as to what actions can be taken to address the anti-social behaviour at the Collinstown Grove gate of Collinstown Park

REPLY:

The kissing gate which was installed at Collinstown Grove has been designed to restrict unauthorised access for scramblers, quads, horses etc, while facilitating universal access for all other park users. Following the report of the Clondalkin Safety & Inclusivity Study in 2000, pruning works were undertaken in the vicinity of the gate in 2021 to enhance visibility at this location and deter the reported gatherings and ASB that were taking place. A further examination of the area will be carried out to see if additional pruning works are required.

In the meantime, residents who are experiencing ASB issues should report the matter to An Garda Síochána who have the powers to implement the law under the various Criminal Justice and Public Order Acts.
