MOTION NO. 4

MOTION: Councillor L. O'Toole

To ask the Chief Executive to report to this area committee in regards to the roll out of Calisthenics which is becoming a fantastic recreational amenity in all our parks. This committee asks if one is been considered for the Lucan area and to provide details of same and make comment on its proposals should one be decided on. If it's not on a programme this committee agrees to place one for the Lucan area.

REPORT:

The provision of calisthenics equipment is a recent addition to the many activities available in Parks in South County Dublin. A new installation was provided in Tymon Park during the summer and a second one is due to be installed in Knockmitten open space later this year.   Calisthenic equipment was also provided as part of the new teen spaces in Ballycragh and Collinstown Park. Approval has been received for the provision of calisthenics equipment in Balgaddy under Sláintecare. Calisthenics equipment will be installed in Griffeen Valley Park as part of the new teen space.
