QUESTION: Councillor P. Gogarty

To ask the Chief Executive for an update on traffic count data and related crossing preparation being obtained at the L011 roundabout opposite AGP0 given the pedestrian footfall that crosses at this location for nine months of the year?

REPLY:

A traffic count was carried out in June of this year on the Haydens Lane / Esker Road roundabout. The Haydens Lane arm showed that a warrent existed on this leg of the roundabout.  The signal controlled pedestrian crossing will be provided at this location in the new year. See sketch of the location of the proposed pedestrian crossing.

A further traffic and pedestrian count was carried out at the start of November on the Esker Road western arm of the roundabout.    The results of this count are awaited. 

I will inform the members by group email of the results of this count when it is received.
