MOTION NO. 3

MOTION: Councillor G. O'Connell

To ask the Chief Executive for a report on the Tree Programme year to date across this LAC and to indicate in the report how long some estates/roads have been on the list and when the Programme is expected to be up to date, and the procedure in place for dealing with individual trees that are brough to the attention of the Council either by an elected member or a citizen.

REPORT:

The 2020-2022 Tree maintenance programme for the Lucan, North Clondalkin area listed 43 locations. 20 of the locations were carried forward from the previous 3-year programme. Of these 20 locations 75% will be completed by the end of 2021 with the additional areas to be completed in Quarter 1 2022. The trees in Lucan village will be surveyed by an independent arborist due to the maturity of the trees and their location in a key urban setting.

The remaining 23 location on the 2020-2022 programme – 12 locations are completed with 11 to be completed by mid-2022. A new maintenance programme will be presented to the area committee in February 2022.

The procedure in place with regard to queries relating to individual trees is as follows – the trees are listed for inspection and once inspected any immediate necessary work is scheduled.
