QUESTION: Councillor C. O'Connor

''To ask the CEO to detail actions being taken to ensure that progress is made towards the completion of the building programme at Fernwood Green and Maplewood Heights in Springfield; will he confirm when he now expects these Age Friendly Homes to be occupied and also detail work being done to identify those who will occupy these homes and will he make a statement?'' 

REPLY:

The 40 age friendly units at Fernwood Green and Maplewood Heights in Springfield are currently under construction and are due to be completed at the end of Q1 2022, subject to no further covid related construction shutdowns being introduced.  A site visit was undertaken by SDCC housing personnel with a represenative from the nominated AHB on Thursday 11th November 2021 where it was confirmed that the projects are on track for completion at the end of Q1 2022.   Occupation of the units will commence in Q2 2022.

The allocation of these units will include a review of the Age-Friendly housing and medical lists, the rightsizing transfer requests under the Age Friendly policy to identify tenants for the developments.  All allocations are completed on a time on list basis in line with the allocations scheme.
