QUESTION: Councillor C. O'Connor

''To ask the CEO,noting a motion passed by the Tallaght Area Committee on the subject, will he now confirm that he is reconsidering the question of the location of a Library for Citywest and will he appreciate the strong view of the local community that the Council should honour the commitment the community believe was made in the LAP, to site the Library in Citywest and will he make a statement?''

REPLY:

As the Area Committee will be aware, a review of the Rathcoole masterplan lands, which was one of the locations considered for the provision of a library facility in the Dublin West area is in the process of being finalised. Upon completion of same, South Dublin County Council will progress the identification of an appropriate site for a library facility in the Dublin West area. In this regard, South Dublin County Council are fully committed to meeting the objectives of the Fortunestown Local Area Plan and the delivery of public services to support the area’s inhabitants.
