QUESTION: Councillor C. O'Connor

''To ask the CEO if he plans any further meetings with the management of Shamrock Rovers FC in respect of plans for the new Stand at Tallaght Stadium and will he also confirm if consideration is being given to providing a Trophy Room and will he make a statement?'' 

REPLY:

Shamrock Rovers Football Club are kept informed and updated regularly by staff of the Economic, Enterprise and Tourism Development Department, including the Stadium Management, on an ongoing basis with regard to the exciting plans for the further development of Tallaght Stadium. 

Part of the undercroft of the proposed new North Stand,  will be the location for the new Shamrock Rovers Club offices and shop. This area will include office facilities and a reception area for the club staff, toilets and showers, as well as a retail area for the club shop. In addition a Board Room for meetings is being provided. The Club could dedicate an area within their footprint for trophy display cabinet, if they so wished.

The 2nd Stage of the Tender process for a Main Contractor will commence in November 2021. Subject to a successful tender process, it is anticipated that construction will commence during Q1 2022.  

The Council will continue to liaise and meet with Club Management during the process to keep them informed and updated.
