COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF CLONDALKIN AREA COMMITTEE

QUESTION NO. 9
QUESTION: Councillor F. Timmons
"To ask the Chief Executive would he consider planting fruit trees and cultivate wild flower meadow in the area surrounding Water Tower on Monastery Road and would South Dublin County Council fund bee and bug hotels for the same site?"
REPLY:
The Water Tower at Monastery Road in Clondalkin has been decommissioned for some years. A number of development options have been considered and careful consideration needs to be given to how to make best use of the site which will involve a number of Council Departments. In the interim the matter of planting fruit trees and the cultivation of a wild flower meadow will be discussed with EWCC. Timelines for future use will be relevant in this regard.
