MOTION NO. 1

MOTION: Councillor Alan Edge

That the manager update this Area Committee on the progress of the playspaces in Dodder Valley Park.

REPORT:

A tender was issued for the design and installation of 3 playspaces and a playtrail at Dodder Valley Park and a successful tenderer was nominated.  This was delayed due to the Covid lockdowns.  We have since been informed by the successful tenderer that they are no longer in a position to complete the works. 

COVID lockdowns have driven up costs of construction materials and have caused labour and supply chain issues. THey have also affected the availability of materials.

We are engaging with the second placed tenderer regarding the playspaces and hope to be in a position to appoint a contractor soon.  Cllrs will be notified as soon as a contractor has been appointed and when it is anticipated that works can begin.
