MOTION No. 6

TEMPLEOGUE VILLAGE - PAVEMENTS

MOTION: Councillor C. Keane

"That this Committee recommends that the pavements in Templeogue Village be upgraded - taking into consideration that we will be erecting a sculpture in the Village in the Autumn it would be fitting to have the footpath area paved/ renewed.  This work was not carried out as part of the Village Renewal Scheme and should now be undertaken. The footpaths are dangerous as well as unsightly.  Rathfarnham Village, Rosemount, St. Peters Road and Templeville shops have all recently been completed to a very high standard. The historical village of Templeogue deserves a facelift."

REPORT:

Substantial works have been carried out in Templeogue Village in recent years and it is proposed to continue with such works as resources permit. The Village & Urban Grant allocations have been agreed for this year and Templeogue Village is not included. Roads Department will approach the liaison officer in Planning with a view to requesting funding in 2007 to upgrade footpaths that are in charge and require upgrading.
