QUESTION NO. 14

QUESTION: Councillor S. O'Hara

"To ask the Chief Executive to investigate speeding through the Aylmer Heath Estate and asks the Planning Department to report on whether a radical Traffic Management Plan can be put in place in the Estate, given the constraints of the planning grant conditions and the fact that the estate isn't yet taking in charge?"

REPLY:

The Estate is still in private ownership. The Developer is responsible for the management of the Estate until it is Taken in Charge.  SDCC cannot go into this private property to undertake speed surveys.  If anti-social behaviour is taking place, it should be reported to the Gardai.   A Taking in Charge process has begun on this Estate, but there a number of pieces of information that have not been forwarded to the Council.  SDCC is prioritising the Taking in Charge of this Estate.  It should be Taken in Charge by mid year 2022.
