QUESTION NO.3
QUESTION: Councillor M. Duff
"Could the Manager make a report to this Area Committee, about securing the area behind the existing fence along the road at Tymon North Gardens, from the the rear of the new Castletymon Library to the footbridge at the rear of Scoil Aonghusa National School, by installing another fence alongside the Poddle river, to help eliminate dumping and more serious illegal activities?".
REPLY:
At the meeting on site in Bancroft Park on Monday July 5th this year which was attended by Council officials, local residents and elected councillors a request was made by Tymon North residents for the Council to erect a railing or fence which will close off the bank of the Poddle River which is adjacent to Scoil Aonghusa and just downstream of the footbridge mentioned. This proposal will be included in the draft public realm improvement works programme for 2022 and will proceed if agreed by the Council members. There are no plans at the present time for any other fencing works in the area.
