MOTION: Councillor M. Johansson

In Chapter 13 Implementation and Monitoring Table 13.3 Zoning Objective RES-N to move Advertisements and Advertising Structures from Open for Consideration to Not Permitted.

REPORT:  

The motion requests that Advertisements and Advertising Structures would be moved from ‘Open for Consideration’ to ‘Not Permitted’ within the ‘Use Classes Related to Zoning Objective’ table for Zoning Objective RES-N ‘To provide for new residential communities in accordance with approved area plans’.  It is considered that the amendment would be overly restrictive in new residential areas where a wide range of uses including childcare, medical Facilities, industry-light, recreational facilities, neighbourhood shops, sports facilities, guest houses and many other use types are ‘Permitted in Principle’.  

RECOMMENDATION:   It is recommended that the motion is not adopted.
