MOTION: Councillor M. Johansson

In Chapter 13 Implementation and Monitoring Table 13.2 Zoning Objective RES to move Advertisements and Advertising Structures from Open for Consideration to Not Permitted.

REPORT:

The motion requests that Advertisements and Advertising Structures would be moved from ‘Open for Consideration’ to ‘Not Permitted’ within the ‘Use Classes Related to Zoning Objective’ table for Zoning Objective RES ‘To protect and/or improve residential amenity’, which relates to existing residential areas.

It is considered that the amendment would be overly restrictive in existing residential areas where a range of uses including public services, shop-local, nursing homes, retirement homes and residential institutions are permitted in principle. 

RECOMMENDATION:   It is recommended that the motion is not adopted.
