QUESTION: Councillor J. Neville

"To ask the Manager what proposals he has for a traffic strategy study of Tallaght Village, the time-frame, criteria & remit of such a study and what public consultation will be involved and will the Manager note the widespread concern about the existing traffic & parking situation in Tallaght Village and will the Manager make a statement on the issues raised within this question?"

REPLY:

There is currently a Tallaght Masterplan being produced by the Planning Department in which all aspects of the future development of Tallaght are being considered. Included as part of this study is the preparation of a detailed traffic model which has been produced by the DTO. This model will predict existing and future traffic flows in the Tallaght area and will be used to guide the plan. Recommendations on parking will also be included in the Masterplan which has been advertised for comments on Thursday 13th of April 06.
