Chapter 9: EDE3 Objective 7: Amend To; remove 'seek' and replace with 'ensure' the provision of workspace as part of any mixed-use development on REGEN zone lands

REPORT:

The proposed motion seeks to amend EDE3 Objective 7 by removing the work seek and replace it with ‘ensure’.

EDE3 Objective 7 states “To seek the provision of workspace as part of any mixed-use development on REGEN zoned land.”

The proposed motion would amend it to read: “To ensure the provision of workspace as part of any mixed-use development on REGEN zone lands.”

It is considered the intent of the motion is acceptable. However, while workspace can be promoted in mixed use developments, it may not always be appropriate so it is considered that the motion is adopted with amendment to read ‘promote’.

Recommendation

It is recommended that this motion is amended to read

EDE3 Objective 7: “To promote the provision of workspace as part of any mixed-use development on REGEN zoned land.”
