Table 13.12, zoning HA-DM: under Open for Consideration amend 'Cultural use' by adding to it footnote (a) 'in existing premises'.

REPORT:

Within the HA-DM zone, Cultural Use is ‘Open for Consideration’ with the caveat (j) Directly linked to the heritage and amenity value of the Dublin Mountains. The motion seeks to add a further footnote (a) 'in existing premises'.    

It is considered that the proposed additional caveat (a) 'in existing premises' would be overly restrictive and that the current caveat (j) ‘directly linked to the heritage and amenity value of the Dublin Mountains’ achieves a balance between allowing some limited scope for development while protecting the sensitivities of the area, and as such is adequate and appropriate.

Recommendation

It is recommended that the motion is not adopted.
