Add new EDE11 Objective 5: To explore possibilities with pedestrianization in order to meet these objectives.
REPORT:
It is noted that Policy EDE 11 states ‘Maintain and enhance the retailing and service function of Clondalkin, ensuring the town’s vitality as a Level 3 Town Centre within the County’ In this context it is considered appropriate to add the following objective to the CE Draft Plan. It is considered that the content of the motion will now be addressed by this addition. It is recommended that the motion be amended and expanded to include for the preparation of an LAP for Clondalkin which will encompass a range of issues including a traffic movement study which will address the issue of pedestrianisation in the town centre.
To prepare a LAP for Clondalkin, the extent of the boundary to be defined, which will be guided by the Local Area Plans Guidelines for Planning Authorities, 2013 (Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government) or any superseding guidelines and which will incorporate:
Traffic movement study.’
Recommendation
It is recommended that the motion be amended through the addition of a new objective EDE11 Objective 5 to read
