MOTION: Councillor G. O'Connell, Councillor P. Gogarty, Councillor L. O'Toole

 Insert new objective: To review the Council litter bin policy within the lifetime of the Development Plan

REPORT:

The proposed motion seeks to include a new objective reviewing the litter bin policy within the lifetime of the plan. It should be noted that bins are deployed on a case by case basis following an assessment set out in accordance with Appendix 7 ‘Litter Bin Installation Protocol’ of the South Dublin County Council Litter Management Plan 2020-2022.

The litter bin policy will need to be reviewed as part of the overall review of the Litter Management Plan at the end of 2022 and therefore it is acceptable that this motion is adopted with amendment to read:

IE 6 Objective 10: To review the current Litter Management Plan as scheduled in Council work programme.

Recommendation

It is recommended that this motion is adopted with amendment.
