MOTION: Councillor G. O'Connell, Councillor P. Gogarty, Councillor L. O'Toole

Insert E8 Objective: To encourage and support the provision of wind farms as part of an agricultural mix in suitable viable land areas zoned RU within the county.

REPORT:

The motion seeks to amend E8 Objective 1 as follows:

From: To review the current wind energy strategy for the County during the lifetime of the Plan having regard to any updated wind energy guidelines.

To: To review the current wind energy strategy for the County during the lifetime of the Plan having regard to any updated wind energy guidelines.

It is considered that the proposed amendment is premature pending the review of the Wind Energy Strategy.

Recommendation

It is considered that the proposed amendment is not adopted.
