Insert additional E7 Objective: To support the provision of solar farms in the county in areas zoned RU

REPORT:

The motion seeks to insert a new objective under policy E7 to read as follows:

To support the provision of solar farms in the county in areas zoned RU.

It is noted that E7 Objective 2 of the Plan states ‘To encourage and support the development of commercial-utility solar energy infrastructure for local distribution at suitable locations in the County. This objective provides for the consideration of solar farms across the County. It is considered that the intent of the motion is provided for in E7 Objective 2.

Recommendation

It is recommended that the motion is amended to reflect the fact that the intent of the motion is addressed in E7 Objective 2.

E7 Objective 2: To encourage and support the development of commercial-utility solar energy infrastructure for local distribution at suitable locations in the County.
