Pilot CCTV supervision in the planned 3 x Dodder Valley play areas trail to enhance sustainable movement

REPORT:

It is submitted that this is an operational matter and that therefore, it is not suitable for the Development Plan to address.

However, in addition, there is already CCTV proposed (if required) as part of the Dodder Greenway proposals, which match the route of the play trail.

The incorporation of CCTV as standard is not recommended and would not be appropriate as a pilot. The reason for implementation of any CCTV recording has to be clearly defined and to achieve a particular goal. Where CCTV is implemented decisions are made on a case-by-case basis and assessment of the local situation including impacts on privacy and in accordance with GDPR.
