MOTION: Councillor L. Dunne

Chapter 8: COS 4 Objective 7: To amend: To support the provision of permanent space for well-established add '/minority sports' & recreational activities at appropriate locations within the County.

REPORT:

This motion proposed to amend wording of COS 4 Objective 7.  However, on examination of this wording it is noted that this is the incorrect reference and it is assumed the correct reference is COS 4 Objective 8 which states:

“To support the provision of permanent space for well-established sports & recreational activities at appropriate locations within the County”.

To:

“To support the provision of permanent space for well-established minority sports and recreational activities at appropriate locations within the County”.

The existing objective COS 4 Objective 7 supports and promotes communities and clubs in developing minority sports,  COS 4 Objective 7 states -  ‘To support and promote communities and clubs in developing minority sports at appropriate locations a within the County’.

It is considered that the motion is reflected sufficiently, insofar as it can be dealt with in the Development Plan, by COS 4 Objective 7.

Recommendation

It is recommended that this motion is adopted with amendment to reflect that the intent of the motion is reflected in COS 4 Objective 7:

‘To support and promote communities and clubs in developing minority sports at appropriate locations a within the County’.
