MOTION: Councillor Yvonne Collins

Community Infrastructure and Open Space: COS3 Objective 4: "including our teens and young people”.

REPORT: This motion is seeking to insert wording into COS 3 Objective 4. The current wording is:

“To ensure that community buildings are multi-functional and adaptable, can be used by all age cohorts (intergenerational), providing for indoor and supporting outdoor use e.g. café seating areas, and are accessible to as many different users as possible”.

To

“To ensure that community buildings are multi-functional and adaptable, can be used by all age cohorts (intergenerational), providing for indoor and supporting outdoor use e.g. café seating areas, and are accessible to as many different users as possible including our teens and young people”.

While it is considered that the spirit of the objective is to provide community buildings for ‘all’ members of the community, both young and old by the inclusion of ‘all age cohorts’ it is nonetheless acceptable to insert the words ‘including our teens and young people’

Recommendation: It is recommended that this motion is adopted to read.
