Community - pg 215 Motion: To amend COS 2 Objective 1: To support the provision of a wide range of community facilities and to ensure that such facilities are provided in communities in tandem with new housing development, and in accordance with the phasing requirements of Local Area Plans and Planning Schemes.

REPORT:

This motion seeks to amend COS 2 Objective 1 as follows:

To support the provision of a wide range of community facilities and to ensure that such facilities are provided in new communities in tandem with housing development, and in accordance with the phasing requirements of Local Area Plans and Planning Schemes.

To support the provision of a wide range of community facilities and to ensure that such facilities are provided in new communities in tandem with new housing development, and in accordance with the phasing requirements of Local Area Plans and Planning Schemes.

This motion is considered to be acceptable however it should be noted that Motion ID 70859 and 71033 also proposes to amend COS 2 Objective 1 such that both amendments would read as follows:

To support the provision of a wide range of community facilities and to ensure that such facilities are provided in new and existing communities in tandem with new housing development, with special consideration for period of review to adapt to the needs of an increasingly multi-cultured and diverse community in accordance with the phasing requirements of Local Area Plans and Planning Schemes. It is considered that the combination of both motions is acceptable.

Recommendation: It is recommended that this motion is adopted.

Amend COS 2 Objective 1 to read:

To support the provision of a wide range of community facilities and to ensure that such facilities are provided in new communities in tandem with new housing development, in accordance with the phasing requirements of Local Area Plans and Planning Schemes.
