Chapter 7 - SUSTAINABLE MOVEMENT - Policy 4 - Strategic Road Network INSERT SLO : 'To plan and support the delivery of an underpass at Palmerstown Village as a practical solution to the traffic delays on the N4.'
REPORT:
Table 7.6 ‘Medium to Long Term Road Objectives’ provides for the following:
‘Kennelsfort Road and the R148: Upgrade of existing junction: Support provision of grade separated junction, having regard to the Bus Connects route on the N4, to enhance the efficiency of the junction and ensure safe crossing facilities.’
The intent of the motion is therefore reflected in the objective above.
The proposal included in the motion is overly prescriptive at this stage. A transport assessment would first be required to identify the issue and propose options for consideration to address the issue.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the motion is adopted with amendments to reflect the fact that the intent of the motion is already reflected in Table 7.6 of the CE Draft Plan ‘Medium to Long Term Road Objectives’
