MOTION: Councillor G. O'Connell, Councillor P. Gogarty, Councillor L. O'Toole

It shall be an objective of the County Development Plan 2022 - 2028 that SDCC actively pursue the development of Exit 8 on the M50 to alleviate pressure on the adjacent community of Clondalkin, and by implication on Exits 7 and 9, and to facilitate the commercial life of Park West and Clonburris as well as the existing local industrial estates..

REPORT:

The motion seeks an additional junction on the M50 to facilitate Park West, Clonburris and Clondalkin.

The development of an additional junction at this location as proposed by the motion is not on any NTA or TII strategic plan.

An additional junction would encourage short journeys on the M50 and would require demand management.

Recommendation:  It is recommended that the motion is not adopted.
