MOTION: Councillor Joanna Tuffy

Amend SM3 Objective 16 (page 197) to add at end of sentence "with a terminus at Lucan Village"

REPORT:

The motion seeks to add the text ‘with a terminus at Lucan Village’ to SM3 Objective 16 so that it reads:

‘To promote the delivery of the Luas to Lucan and facilitate the reservation of any identified or emerging route with a terminus at Lucan Village’.

The NTA is currently carrying out a review of the GDA Transport Strategy which is expected to be completed by the end of this year.  SDCC will continue to engage in this review process.  Insertion of the text as proposed by the motion would be premature pending the outcome of the review and detailed studies regarding route options. 

Recommendation

It is recommended that the motion is not adopted.
