QUESTION: Councillor C. O'Connor

To ask the CEO what action he is taking under the Derelict Sites Act in respect of the four abandoned houses in St Maelruin's Park, Tallaght as previously reported and will he note reports from residents that the four houses are infested with rats and will he give assurances and make a statement

REPLY:

These properties are actively monitored under the provisions of the Derelict Sites Act.

The properties are in receivership and records indicate that previous efforts by the receiver to sell the properties were unsuccessful. In general, the receiver is responsive to requests from the Council to tidy and secure the site.

It is proposed to enter the particulars of the properties on the Derelict Sites Register and Statutory Notices to this effect have been served.

Consideration will then be given to further appropriate action under the Derelict Sites Act
