SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF RATHFARNHAM/TEMPLEOGUE/FIRHOUSE/BOHERNABREENA AREA COMMITTEE

MOTION NO. 18
MOTION: Councillor D. O'Donovan
That the Manager identifies suitable sites for a community garden in Firhouse.
REPORT:
Firhouse Community and Youth Centre were awarded funding for the provision of a community garden under the 2019 €300k Have Your Say campaign. Development and completion of this project by the centre's board of management in conjunction with the Council's Public Realm/Parks team would seem to be the most appropriate way to deliver such a facility in the Firhouse area.
Any alternative such proposals for same would require a committed local group to identify and discuss possible sites with the Council's Public Realm/Parks staff as well as to co-ordinate and manage work on the garden and liaise with Public Realm/Parks staff in that regard also as required.
If there is a local group interested in pursuing such a facility in the area, then the committee can make contact with the Community Development team who will facilitate engagement with the Public Realm/Parks team as required.
