MOTION NO. 14

MOTION: Councillor Alan Edge

This Committee requests the installation of a wall between Grangebrook Vale and the Glinbury estate to provide privacy and protect against dumping and ASB while the trees planted to replace those felled mature.

REPORT:

The hedgerow between the open space at Grangebrook Vale and the nearby laneway was damaged as a result of works at the site, however some replacement tree planting has now taken place at the location.  This is a natural hedgerow and it is proposed to continue to reinforce the area with further planting of native species such as whitethorn and blackthorn etc.  While the open space can be accessed from the laneway, there is no evidence of dumping or anti social behaviour in the area.  The laneway in question services the old Whitechurch Graveyard as well as private property, all properties off this laneway appear to be well secured by high boundaries.
