MOTION: Councillor M. Johansson

That the Chief Executive, in light of the proposed Canal Loop Cycle Way, commence a comprehensive traffic study in Lucan Village to find out the origin/destination of traffic through the village and explore options to reduce traffic including the possibilities of a one-way system and pedestrianisation of sections of the village.

REPORT:

To procure a comprehensive Traffic Study in Lucan Village would involve significant cost as the scope mentioned in the question is wide ranging. A study commenced now would not yield meaningful information on which to recommned any Transport changes due to the current abnormal traffic conditions during the Covid crisis. The Traffic section do not recommend conducting a Traffic Study in Lucan Village at ths time.
