MOTION NO.  14

MOTION: Councillor S. O'Hara

That this Area Committee agrees to a once-off intense clean-up using appropriate machinery at Mount Seskin Road, Mahon's Lane and Meagan's Lane due to the enormous volumes of illegal waste built up in the ditches and that South Dublin County Council assign more regular litter warden services to these rural dumping black spots.

REPORT:

A once off clean of the laneways in question will be arranged to be done in the coming weeks.  The lanes in question are both very narrow and will need to be closed temporarily to facilitate the clean up.  This is also the case in relation to cleaning of Mt Seskin Road, which provides a link between Tallaght and Brittas and is quite busy in terms of traffic.  The necessary road and lane closures will have to be agreed with the Council's traffic section and the Gardai.
