MOTION: Councillor Yvonne Collins

To ask the Council to provide more bins or bigger bins or a more frequent collection service to cope with the amount of rubbish being discarded in our parks and public areas

REPORT:

The Director of Service has given a commitment to provide additional litter bins in public parks and these are being installed at the present time.  The provision of large mobile container bins at park car parks is also being considered as a temporary measure while Covid restrictions continue to require movement within the County only, and while the emphasis continues to be on outdoor activities.  The Public Realm section will continue to monitor the usage of parks and outdoor spaces and will endeavour to respond to any issues that arise in a flexible manner.
